Insurance companies recommend contents check
Buenos Aires News.Net Saturday 28th June, 2008
UK insurance research has found that people in their mid-forties hold an average £40,919 worth of personal possessions in their homes.
Among the under-40s, the most valuable age was found to be 28, where people owned an average of £33,166 in possessions.
56 per cent of Britons across all age groups said they had no idea about how much the goods in their home were worth.
About one fifth also said that they had never thought about the value of their home.
Insurance executives say the report has shown that people need to check their home policies to ensure their contents insurance is adequate.
