BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Veteran manager Ricardo Zielinski has been appointed head coach of Estudiantes La Plata for the 2021 Argentine football season, the club said on Monday.
Zielinski replaces Leandro Desabato, who was sacked last month after just nine matches in charge.
"Welcome to the largest family in the world," Estudiantes said in a statement posted on social media.
The announcement came less than two weeks after Zielinski resigned from his position as manager of Atletico Tucuman.
"I am proud to belong to this institution through which great figures of world football have passed," said the 61-year-old, who will conduct his first training session with Estudiantes on January 18.
In addition to Atletico Tucuman, Zielinski has managed top-flight clubs Defensa y Justicia, Patronato, Belgrano and Racing over a coaching career that has spanned almost three decades.
