BUENOS AIRES, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Lucas Janson scored late as Velez Sarsfield clinched a 2-1 win at Colon on the final day of Argentina's Primera Division regular season on Monday.
Abiel Osorio gave the visitors the lead with a fifth-minute strike before Ramon Abila equalized with an angled finish just after the hour mark.
Janson restored Velez's advantage in the 74th minute by capitalizing on a bungled clearance and lashing home a first-time effort from 15 yards.
The hosts squandered a chance to equalize five minutes from time when Abila sent a penalty kick over the bar.
The result leaves Velez fifth in the 14-team Group B standings while Colon dropped to ninth with 16 points.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Monday, Lanus drew 3-3 at Central Cordoba and Banfield were held to a 1-1 home draw by Atletico Tucuman.
