RIO DE JANEIRO, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Brazil international forward Hulk was on target as reigning champions Atletico Mineiro eased to a 2-0 home win over Atletico Goianiense in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Marlon Freitas gifted the hosts the lead in the 14th minute when he turned the ball into his own net, and Hulk doubled the advantage with a 72nd-minute strike.
The result lifted Atletico to second in the 20-team standings with 12 points from seven matches, a point behind leaders Corinthians, who drew 2-2 at Internacional earlier on Saturday.
Atletico Goianiense are 19th with just three points so far while Internacional are eighth, four points behind Corinthians.
