RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- German Cano scored a late equalizer as 10-man Fluminense earned a 2-2 home draw with Internacional in their all-Brazilian Copa Libertadores semifinal first leg on Wednesday.
The Argentinian striker put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute with a low effort after combining with John Kennedy.
But the Rio de Janeiro outfit were reduced to 10 men just before halftime when Samuel Xavier received his second yellow card for a bad foul on Hugo Mallo.
Internacional capitalized on their numerical advantage almost immediately as Mallo headed home after Rene's cross.
Alan Patrick gave Internacional the lead with a cool finish following Enner Valencia's assist just after the hour.
But Fluminense equalized through Cano, who bundled home from point-blank range after Nino's headed pass.
The return leg will be played at Internacional's Beira-Rio stadium in Porto Alegre next Wednesday.
