Empresa Brasil de Comunicacao (EBC) and Empresa Radio e Televisao de Portugal (RTP) have signed an agreement to exchange content, logistical support, and professionals

At the meeting, held in Lisbon, Portugal, on Wednesday (Sep. 27), EBC was represented by its President Helio Doyle and RTP by the chairman of its board, Nicolau Santos.

The ceremony was also attended by Brazil's Ambassador to Portugal Raimundo Carreiro, Brazil's Ambassador to the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) Juliano Nascimento, as well as members of the RTP board and management.

The initiative outlines the conditions for the exchange of content, with an emphasis on themes related to Portuguese-speaking nations between EBC's television channels and channels RTP Africa and RTP 3. The protocol also includes logistical support and the exchange and training of professionals from both broadcasters.

"Signing this agreement is crucial for Brazil. It comes as part of our broad strategy to internationalize EBC and the content produced by its channels," President Doyle declared. "In this connection, signing this agreement with Portugal should help us further expand our sources of information and cultural content," he added.

Under its current management, EBC has inked deals with news agencies Xinhua, from China; Lusa, from Portugal; and with Argentina's public media system, comprising Telam, RTA, and Contenidos Pblicos Sociedad del Estado. New agreements are under negotiation with countries such as Chile, Venezuela, Cuba, and Azerbaijan.

A symbol of culture for all Portuguese people, RTP owns television channels, radio stations, and web portals. In its public services, it stands out for the quality and range of its programs, both on radio and television, as well as the content it makes available online.
