BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Salomon Rondon and Enzo Diaz scored in each half to fire River Plate to a 2-0 away win over rivals Boca Juniors in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.
River Plate went ahead just before halftime when Enzo Perez's wayward effort from distance took a deflection off Rondon's right leg and flew into the bottom left corner.
The visitors doubled the advantage as some chaotic defending from the hosts left Enzo Dias with time and space to fire into an empty net after Sergio Romero rushed off his line.
The result at La Bombonera leaves River second in Group A with 13 points from seven games, a point behind leaders Independiente. Boca are 10th in Group B with seven points.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Sunday, Banfield won 1-0 at home to Lanus, Colon were held to a goalless home draw by Union Santa Fe, Gimnasia held Estudiantes to a 0-0 draw away from home and Talleres were kept to a goalless home draw by Belgrano.
