RIO DE JANEIRO, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Argentine manager Juan Pablo Vojvoda has parted ways with Fortaleza after more than four years in the job, the Brazilian top flight club said on Monday.

The announcement followed Fortaleza's 1-0 loss to Ceara on Sunday, a result that left Fortaleza 19th in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings.

Hired in May 2021, Vojvoda led Fortaleza to 144 wins, 77 draws and 88 losses.

"[We] deeply appreciate Juan Pablo Vojvoda's legacy, love, respect and loyalty to the institution," read a statement on the club's official website. "His legacy is eternal and we wish him success in his future endeavors."

Assistant manager Leo Porto will take charge of the first-team squad on an interim basis, the club said.
